Dolpo Region
Dolpo, an isolated Kingdom of ancient Nepal, is one of the most gratifying trekking destinations in the world. There are barely any such places left in the Earth where the ancient lifestyle of the Himalayan people is still continued by the indigenous people. Their houses and monasteries are the typical representation of ancient Tibetan culture and traditions. In fact, the Dolpo itself was a part of a Tibetan kingdom before the unification of Nepal in the 18th century.
Besides its cultural riches, Dolpo is adorned with the classic Himalayas in its northern flank. The beautiful views of the Dhaulagiri and serene turquoise lakes of the Shey Phoksundo are still pristine and unparalleled.
