Makalu Region

Makalu is one of the most challenging trekking regions in Nepal. But, once you are on the higher sections of the Makalu, the stunning views of the mountains and the glaciers, particularly the Barun Glacier, will overwhelm your heart with joy and pleasure. The icy blue glacial lakes are inviting enough to drag your mind, body, and soul into its purity. Because of its difficult terrain, its natural authenticity has remained unblemished for these so many decades.

Eking out a living in the higher altitude is indeed a challenge in itself. But, the story of Makalu says that it is much more difficult than any lowlanders might expect. The scarcity of drinkable water and unavailability of other basic commodities has made life in Makalu more than an adventure. So, you will encounter only finger-numbing houses on the trail.

Camping is the only possible option in most of the places. So, get ready for the next challenge.
